Laws and Store Policy:
- You MUST be 21 years of age to purchase firearms in Florida.
- Valid ID required. ID must show current place of residence. If ID does not show current residence, another form of Gov issued ID must be supplied or a utility bill or vehicle registration (showing purchasers name and current address)
- $5 background check fee applies to all applicable transfers.
- Florida imposes a 3 day waiting period on all firearm purchases
- Waiting period begins at receipt of funds and EXCLUDES holiday and weekends.
- Waiting period is exempt with FL concealed weapons permit and to persons who have completed hunters’ safety course. Valid proof of license required.
- As of July 1st, 2023, Florida no longer requires a concealed weapons permit, however license is still required for exemption of waiting period.
- 3% processing fee applies to all card payments
- All sales are final, no returns exchanges or refunds will be accepted.
- Canceled purchases with submitted background will be refunded minus 10% restocking fee
- Denied background check are subject to 30% restocking fee

Automatic Knife Disclaimer
Yes, automatic knifes are legal in most of the county. However, we will not ship automatic knifes to NY/NJ and any other state where they are illegal or regulated. The are no laws or definitions in Florida law regulating automatic knifes. In Florida a “common pocketknife” (blade of 4in or less) may be concealed by individuals not possessing a concealed weapons permit.
WARNING: Florida knife law is loosely written and leaves a potential for interpretation of what may or may not be considered a “common pocketknife”. We advise that individuals be aware that without a concealed weapons permit, possession of a serrated blade that opens with a push button, that is spring assisted or any combination of certain design features could be interoperated as that knife not being a “common pocketknife” and a violation of the law.
Online firearm/stippling sales
- Please do not send complete pistols for stippling, please strip to bare frame for stippling.
- When purchasing firearms or stippling online and not picking up/dropping off at our shop, we will contact you for shipping instructions/details.
- The following is required before any firearm shipment can be made:
- Business name and contact information of receiving dealer.
- Copy of dealers valid FFL for our records.
Other Policies
- Privacy policy: Hydra Defense respects your privacy and personal information. We will never sell or share your information to any third parties. Any customer data collected will be used solely for the purposes of marketing our products to you, our customer.
- “High capacity” magazines will not be shipped to any state with legal restrictions against them.
- Automatic knifes will not be shipped to any state with legal restrictions against them.
- Special orders: Payment is taken in full before item is ordered.
- Any item ordered/purchased (including NFA items after approval) that customer does not claim/pick up after 30 days and attempts to contact, said item will incur a $10 per day storage fee. When storage fees mount to the value of the item, it will be deemed abandoned and forfeit, Hydra Defense will take possession to recoup costs. At that point any funds collected from purchase will be deemed payment for storage fees and not refunded.
- Hydra Defense reserves the right to deny sale to any person for any reason, including smelling of marijuana, suspicion of attempted straw purchase of firearms, or for any other reason a person may be disqualified from owning or possessing firearms legally.
- Improper/Unsafe/Illegal use: Hydra Defense is not responsible or liable for any individuals action with an item purchased from us that is used in an improper, unsafe or unlawful manner. Individuals are always recommended to read owner’s manuals, obtain proper training, to always operate in a safe respectful manner, mindful of their surroundings and presence of other people nearby.
